why the need for the mains step up transformer?
Mixmasters should have supplied it set to 230Vac.
Disconnect the mains lead from the PSU, take the lid off the PSU, you'll see a slide switch in there, slide it over to read 230v. Put the lid back on and bob's yer uncle.

Obviously I'd take your word on it ;-)
I got the psu from the US ....for some reason I thought I read somewhere that the psu were fixed...but I'll pop the top anyway.
