This was bought on here from Aearth ages ago but has been sitting in my to do pile for far too long. So here it is a Neve 51 series stereo line/eq module ready to be racked up for someone needing to get some eq action. $500 ono





Well here is what Rob can do to this bad boy. I also had the idea to perhaps add two JLM gobetween plus boards to add mic pres to the front end as well as line in.



I'm open to offers, I am a plumbers best friend at the moment, dishwasher problem one week, then this week arrived home to find the hot water system unloading it's contents into my house!!!!!!

i have a plan
i have two of the same 51 series neve modules but with the mic pres as well as eq in them
that i will put in a trm 5 minute auction
what if i sell them for for $100 more then what ever barney gets

actually i have heaps of neve 51 series channels if somebody wants to make up a desk or add to one but only two mic channels
so lets sell his then lets the fun begin

Count me in on the mic pre's!

all this biscuit talk reminds me that I don't really know anything about aussie biscuits because my american grandmother made the best biscuits ever and everyday when we got home from school there were fresh cookies in the cookie jar. Can't beat cookies warm from the oven with glass of cold milk.

I like that story Myles! It reminds me of my own experience.

That story reminds me of why I was in pre-school (3-4yrs old) and primary school.

I would arrive home from school and there would be the best smell in the air. My italian grandfather came with us to Australia from Chile and he was the best cook I can remember. He would always have biscuits baking.

Can't beat home made biscuits.

I'm hesitant to make this post, because I don't want to diss Barney's sale or Rick's offer. Take anything from 'slutz with due grains of salt (although I do respect Fletcher's opinions FWIW). Its just that I've never before heard the term "shit covered ebola sandwich" and Neve in the same sentence before.

I do like the idea of replacing this forum's B-word auto replace with that phrase, or maybe just "SCES" for those in the know.

Classic, hmmm I was hungry 5 mins ago, now not so sure after thinking about a SCES. Still for 500 bucks it can't be too bad. Could be ok on say drums for instance.

Anyway who could afford 10XX series Neve shit these days. $10,000 for a pair, I dropped that idea like a SCES too.

The "N" word for me is "Neumann".

I think fletcher is refering more to the price for 12. where as I think barney and rick are more realistic in the price....

Again guys, I'm not dissing the sale or the goods - Barney's good to offer and Simon's lucky to buy. I'd much rather see this stuff go here than via ebay any day of the week. I'd just loved the turn of phrase.

i have two of these modules going up , except these ones have the full mic pre and the middle of the range eq in them

thats two mono channels , i can state that i have used these for years when they where in the board
they do sound great ! , what would flether know anyways ,
he hasnt sold anything OLD for ten years !

the 51 series is a good neve , no doubts no questions ..

i reckon i will set the auction up for next sunday night ( thats not 2 days but 9 days away )

maybe i will make it a live auction ( highest price gets them ) maybe a dead one ( first guy to post ) ,

i will think about it over the week , i am getting a new camera over the weekend so i will post up when I

Racking these things is a pain ( well worth it but its hard shitty work )
maybe rob can chime in on the approx price of the work so we can set a baseline price point

Cool! Hmmm hard and shitty usually means reasonably expensive, but hey I'm still in. If I don't win I still have my shitty calrecs to get racked. :)

so i'll have an up to the minute costing mid next week

however in the meantime, they will cost around $1,200 to rack the pair.

If they have spent any reasonable amount of time turned on, they will need recapping, this isn't trivial. If they have the teflon flat cables, they will fall apart when the recapping is done and will be need to be replaced.
