Hey guys, I need to buy a lightpipe for a RME ADI-8 Convertor but can't seem to find any love in this town.
Any clues on where I could look? I called a couple of distributors but their responses don't fill me with confidence....I wouldn't have thought that it'd be a very difficult item to get hold of.

I would have thought Sound Devices would have stocked them.
Aren't the pretty common in the hi fi world as well?

A lightpipe being an optical cable? Dick Smith, JB Hi-Fi, Jaycar etc? eBay for cheap ;)

Hey Kurt, thanks for the reply. Yep that's the one. I did check out DSE and Jaycar online and found some but wasn't too sure about their quality. 18 months ago I may have bought a couple of cheap brands and not cared too much about the cost of replacing if they didn't work out....right now I need to buy once and buy right unfortunately.
I'll duck out to DSE later today and have a look...thanks

Hey Sammas.....yep. As above to Kurt - was just curious as to the quality difference between consumer stuff at DSE and so called "pro-sumer" audio

Im using Jaycar ones between my RME's and 003, they work fine. Its such a thin little cable im worried they will break anyway, and if they do break its only a couple of bucks to buy another.

I have one from DSE and one from eBay, I use them to hook up ADA8000s to my Fostex HDD recorder. Both still working fine after several years of hard labour in a rack that gets reshuffled a lot.

WES has very good quality (not thin), and very cheap
