NEVE STEREO MIC PRE

Hi Folks,
i have this stereo neve mic pre for sale.
meticulously hand wired and 2u racked by our tech.
made from bits of 80's neve console i purchased from abc 12 years ago.
neve original belclere input trani tf 10014, ba 438 preamp board and ba 440 discrete output amp.
55db of gain in 6 steps .
20 db pad.
48 v phantom power.
di input.
international 48v plugpack included.
xlr in/out.
nice retro illuminated switches.

they sound kinda juicy and colour full.
great on drums and e gtr's.
particularly good @ taming/smoothing out transient rich sources like piano.
$1300 + post.

So what console are these from or are these just some cards with transformers stuck together?

hi,
i believe it was 51 series.
it was 15 year ago-hard to remember.
but here is a photo of eq from console.

but yes they are a bunch of trani's and cards stuck together by people who know what they are doing.

here's another to help identify the console.
the frames are long gone,chuck'dm years ago.(rick was spewing when i told him this recently!)l
btw do you like my new phillip's scope $20 ebay ,plugged it in and it works!

hey dave (weird talking to you on the forum!).... i'd totally forgotten that i did a bit of research on that console, i can't remember if i ever gave you my notes?

anyway... it was a 53 series... 14 channel? anyway, it was build number A5396 which - according to geoff tanner and other sources - makes it a "14 channel announcers facility for ABC Australia". it was one of 5 consoles (i think - A5394/96/97/98/99) commissioned by the ABC in late 1978. so i'm pretty sure that was your desk.

you do know that rick is not the only person pissed at you for throwing out the frame? ;-) but at least i scored the big blue monitor knob - i'll never part with that!
