Seller flaked? We all thought that was a done deal. What happened? (I think this is relevant as the seller was intending to advertise more gear here)

don't tell anyone !)...so we will be taking action when he comes back.

But until that time, I'd urge caution.

I heard of one going for sale today from the regurgitator guys, ask dave at logitronics in melbourne.

I can partially see why the sale was pulled. If I put something up for sale and
received dozens of PM's with requests to buy because it was so cheap, I'd probably
pull the pin too and investigate selling it for what it is worth. After all, there is the
potential that the buyer is going to do that in the long run anyway (i'm not pointing
the finger at you, John... it's just a general statement given that most sales over
internet land are between people you wouldn't recognize from a bar of soap).

Then again, if an old granny offered me a TB-303 for $150... I would probably point
out what it is really worth. I feel there is a difference between getting a great deal and
potentially ripping someone off because they don't really know what they have. I'd love
it if my gran ended up with the extra $1500 to buy a nice frock with...

hahaha.

Enough from me. I'm dribbling on myself. You win some, you lose some, I guess.

Sorry mate but your's is a somewhat presumptious post............Based on earlier posts, it appears that there had been an agreement reached and money sent............for a seller to change their minds after that is somewhat questionable.

Just to clarify, I was the seller, I had wanted to sell the Odyssey to fund a birthday present for my daughter.

What started out as Nymo visiting Melbourne to collect (which I would have been happy with) in a short time frame, was deferred, then subsequently lagged past the birthday (June 8). Meanwhile, a stranger was to collect it who had already offered to buy the device privately in a private message. So Nymo's agent was after the device also. I saw that getting messy if he never forwarded the device.

Now Nymo had precedence, had my address, had my phone numbers, and we'd chatted.

I had other offers higher via private message in Melbourne, from Melbourne people, but never sold because it would have violated Nymo's precedence - better no sale than arguments about a bidding war - if that seems at all ethical?

I bailed out because it was all too hard.

So buyer beware - and seller beware also - I specified local pickup, but someone in Qld bidded first and then insisted the sale was theirs, the sale terms - cheap device for prompt sale - became a delayed sale with an agent - and I was totally despondent after June 8 - no money received for the birthday gift, and no reason to sell the device cheaply to expedite the sale.

just to clarify a point you made in your recent post - back when you posted about the Arp for sale i msg'd you regarding the Arp before i knew someone else had agreed to buy it from you,

then when he had posted on the forum to say he needed someone from melbourne to collect and send it to him i offered to help him out and was happy to do him a favour.. as a small good gesture (ie: i know a lot about synths and would make sure it was packed correctly ect..) even though i missed out on it myself..

you're post could almost imply something untoward on my part or that i was acting out of self interest which definitely wasn't the case - as it turned out i had monies for an arp deposited into my account and then i returned these monies soon afterward - slight inconvenience no big deal - just clarifying this point.

funny to read your post after a solid year - all of us synth heads should try and get along with each other and be buddies
btw - i eventually found a D6 clavinet here on the forum (thanks ev!)...

Harry - I know John by sight, but if you were his agent, (memory is dim) then you can understand my apprehension. No we never met, and no - I don't have any reason to distrust you nor to question your motives. But from my perspective, there were too many question marks to be comfortable with the sale. There were some other complications that I won't go into here.
