WTB: Older U87 (not AI version)

Hi Turtlerockers,

Name is Ant and just on a mission to buy a few new pieces for my new setup.

My first port of call is trying to find a good older Neumann U87 to buy. I'm not after one of the newer 'AI' version, as they don't quite tickle my fancy as much.

If anyone has any suggestions or can point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated. I know there is one on ebay at present but I just thought I'd see if there was something more local that I could suss out a bit before buying. Im based in Sydney.

Anyway, thanks for the read. Hopefully someone out there has a few suggestions going.

Cheers all

Ant

Hey Ant,

I have witnessed Orig U87's jump in price over the last 3-4 months to staggering highs of $3000 US + for a sale.Six months ago they were being sold with 1750-2000 US dollar price tags.Vintage Neumann prices ride in waves.

If you have determined that you definately desire an orig U87, be patient.Do not forget to browse ebay.de .

Or you could just get a combo of a Gefell MV692 with UM70 head and forget U87's exist.I have had 4 U87's.I have ended up selling them all over time.

Best of luck,

Mike
