Hi Guys,
Just wanted to know if anyone might have x2 female EP3 connectors lying around that they could sell me? They are a bit odd, have 4 prongs.
I just need two of them

do you need ep3 (used for power and had red on it) or ep4 for biamp speakers?

Oh! um well i've been told I need ep3. Oddly it for audio leads for an old valve limiter I have. It has these connections on the back, also for the power, but I have the power lead. Any thoughts???

Just looked at the back of the limiter. I'm stupid, I need a male and female (of course).

I can buy these new quite readily, not cheap, maybe $15 or so each, depending on metal or plastic shells

As a word of warning, if you ever think you might need to use the gear in a place that requires electrical safety tests you'll never get it through with one of those on.

For many bits of gear the effort to retrofit with a standard IEC is worth it, not only for the (perceived) safety issue, but also just commonality.

Really!!?? why is that? are they not safe??

is there some confusion here about what these EP connectors are being used for?

Mat, they are to get audio in and out yeah? They are not used for mains power?

Ug, you're right Rob, my bad. I was confusing with XLR-LNE because of Damien's post

The EP3 and EP4 have been used for power on some odd gear, for example a bunch of old HP test gear. Mostly DC, but a few odd bits had EP3 for AC line including some of the wonderful early HP Caesium atomic clocks.

Yeah Rob, audio in and out....however one is also being used for power. The unit powers up fine.
