The mic's:
Serial #16323 (with capsule #7921)
Gain: -8.4dB, Dist: 0.33%, Noise: -98dB (CCIR)
Serial #20723 (with capsule #7961)
Gain: -8.57dB, Dist: 0.86%, Noise: -97dB (CCIR)
I just had Gunter Wagner go over five of these mic's, matching the frequency and response to make a couple of pairs.
All mic's were checked and optimised, and Gunter seemed very happy with the results. So am I!
I'm asking $2300 for this pair, including a (simple) padded box for storage/transportation, &
2x Tuchel "DIN" to standard XLR converter cables.
Included here are some images.
If there's interest let me know, or I'll post them on ebay in a few days, starting at $2200 or so..
Prefer to sell them to someone here.
Cheers!
Evan

Update:
I've had a couple of people interested here, but nothing solid as yet.
Anyone interested, please make me an offer. Now's the time.
I''ll be selling this pair either here or on ebay at the beginning of next week before I head OS for a couple of months.
Need to get some revenue for potential purchases in the States!
I'd prefer to sell here and avoid the fees and hassle of ebay, so chime in if you wanna make me an offer.
These are lovely mic's - great for acoustic guitar, strings, overheads, all sorts..
Just serviced and ready to plug and play.
Cheers,
Ev.

why does every body threaten the buy it or i am going to instigate the ebay rollout this week ...?
i reckon that price is about all the money on a good day for you and not so great buy for your mates
but if somebody really wants them and you got them its fine
i guess we still have mates on ebay ... dont we ?
somewhere not so long ago back in the TRM archives this game ( km 85 ) played out with different numbers
perhaps check that out

OK, thanks Rick. No worries. I took my reference in part from Tim S's pair of KM85's advertised here on this forum that happily got snapped up (via ebay) for over $2k last year some time, I think it was. It is annoying - all that "I'll have to to go to eBay" biz - so begging for pardon. I know I'm not offering bargain prices, so I'll just drop it! Cheers y'all.

I don't see a problem with announcing the"off to ebay" line. At the end of the day, if someone wants to buy it here on TR, then it'll sell here.
To announce the item for sale is going to a bigger "for sale" section where its for anyone to buy, is just letting interested people here know to
act or they might miss out. That said, price will always determine if something will be snapped up quickly or not, and it'll always be up to the seller
and how fast they need to sell. Wow that was deep.

Well without weighing in to the discussion too heavily I often find people put a high price on forum listings (not just here) hoping to snag a good price for themselves and when unsuccessful off to ebay they go to find the real market price. No offence meant any of the parties involved here but I purchased a single km85 for under 500 on ebay australia last year with no special deal or poorly advertised example. I've also regularly seen serviced km84's go for around the 2k mark overseas. I would have thought a more realistic price would have put them around 1500-1900 max. Seems like good deals should be offered on closed forums like TR and if people are uninterested then a price should be transferred over to the fleabay clientele. Its always hard putting a price on a prized second hand item though and I understand the need to get a high return on something of quality.

I purchased a consec serial Numbered pair of KM85's off fleabay for a grand 2 years ago.
Just recently one is down 10dB and i think it's the 10dB pad switch not engaging, so they will be off to Gunter soon for some of his expertise. They are a fantastic mic to have in the took kit.

Hehe. biccies.. yum! ...with tea
Hey, if anyone wants to make an offer on this pair of mic's, somewhere around the $1900 mark, I'm open to such offers.
That's all.
PS. Thanks for all the comments. I'm new to forum land. -Jumped in now and giving it a good thrashing, though, you may have noticed.
Still a novice, but I'm catching on, so thanks for the tips and etiquette appraisals. Taken on board.

Please dont quote/blame me - I only use Ebay as wider national/international advertising regime as well as my regular forums.
If any forum member bought them, I'd cancel any Ebay auction ASAP.
My KM pair had XLRs too, not Tuchel connectors and were early to mid 70's KM85s - I bought a quad set and had them all matched perfectly together.

i was thinking about the $500 each km 85 that turned up for a short time on this forum from a month or two ago
but i am seeing alot of dont make me go to ebay threats lately
please keep in mind this for sale section is on a hard to get into forum and really just serves the local community
i have an strong memory for equipment sales and i like watching certain items do the rounds of the forum members throughout the years
so i know the for sale section is worthwhile and people are getting "connected " through the sales and forum post as well
how many of you have met a new friend by going over to their place to pick something up ..?
you dont have to do anybody favours on price around here just be frank about what you have and what you want
if your asking too much for the current state of play on price dont be alarmed if somebody lets you know there are lots of fanatical gear price watchers on the list
its a good place to get a reality check with getting into a fight
if your not asking enough and you find that out here and decide rethink your sale - while annoying.... its still a TRF service
it should not be considered a crime ... just dont make a habit of using us to tyre kick the market price - i will put a stop to such things
now who was it that sold his house through this forum ...?
i am still waiting for my slab of coke ( err the soft drink type)
