Hi All, How are you.?

This I thougth would be the perfect place for this type of ad. At BeesNeez Microphones, we are looking for another Full timer... We have been growing over the last few years and it is time for more new blood.

We Currently have 6 permanent staff over the next few months we would like to grow to ten.

We need someone with an ear and great set of hands. the job would intale; moving to Kyogle, Manufacturing microphone Electrics, Recording Microphone Samples and general duties. No experience is necessary, just be willing to learn and enjoy the amazing views and peaceful surroundings of the factory.

We are looking for Full time Applicants, Salary based.

The wage depends on the person and their requirments. We are looking for a long term commitment and will ensure that the right person will be very well trained and looked after. We even have the necessary trades present to offer a traineeship/apprenticeship in either Electronics or Fitting and Turning if that is appealing.

Another one is, what time is lunch, and what time do i knock off... how many sick days do i get?

Also, high up there.. what day do we get paid?

Awesome oppertunity, and I'd jump at the chance. Sounds like it'd be something I'd relish, having worked as a fitter turner , electrician, & been working as sound guy for last 10 years. But... me and my wife are about to have our first child in approx 4 weeks.

Mike, feel like a change? THis place sure has alot to offer and i have just last week taken delivery of my new Live tool Turning centre (a machinist dream machine). This puppy can make a K47 blank in 11 minutes.

Kyogle is a great place to raise the fam, you know the air up here's got this special drug in it; i think they call it oxygen lol.

Wow Ben, great to see your company expanding so quickly, really is impressive. I've got 2 good ears and only 1 good hand, bummer eh. Would really be a great job though and yes all the oxygen up there sure does do wonders for the body and mind I agree.

If you ever in the future need someone doing sales in Sydney or need someone to show off new products to stores in Sydney, hit me up.

Trust me, If things were different, and my wife didn't have such a great job and my folks hadn't just moved over from NZ to be close to us & we weren't renovating & baby due.. lol..

It sounds like a great job / lifestyle / change. Someone better pounce on this.

Cool opportunity for someone at the right stage of their life.

For what my opinion is worth, I don't think asking for the salary is bad form, but asking on a public forum probably is. The salary is an important piece of information to the employee because it can be the deciding factor between weather someone is willing to do the job or not. Sometimes employers foget that they are being tried out during hiring interview too. I'm certainly not saying you were, Ben, more of a general statement about why in most cases it's perfectly acceptable for a potential employee to ask what the remuneration is (just maybe not in a forum thread!).

Best of luck finding someone, Ben. I could see myself settling down to a life of building microphones in a small town if I was 25-30 years older, not playing in/recording shitty rock bands in the city and partying like it's 1999!

The ad was placed online in a public forum, therefore I do not know why it would be offensive if the wages were asked. It would be different if there were things said in private with Ben regarding employment opportunities and then it was blabbed online with no reasonable reason.

I find this similar to selling items. What are you selling, a job opportunity. If you do not want to discuss wages, fine, but I do not find it rude that a person asks for wages. If the price is right, I or someone I know may have taken the offer, but by not giving an estimate, makes me think, it's not worth me considering it for myself or someone else.

I see ads online that have "message me for price". Then I find out, the person is giving different prices to different people depending on how gullible they are. Im not saying that it is in this case but some people are very discreet when it comes to wages they offer. I can understand it, if a person finds it rude if someone asks how much they earn, but if a person is offering a job to someone, then they have the right to say, what is the wage.

How about "Salary commensurate with experience and skills" That shouldn't offend anyone...

I think the wages part would come up during the personal interview between employer and the job applicant based on experience for the job required. Like a prostitute maybe great at her or his job holding a penis for $200 per half hour, but maybe completely incompetent working on a microphone. Both being of a similar shape and holding position I think Ben would pay more for the mic tech. Well Ben's (the employer) choice really.

I dont think its a reasonable question to ask for salary information - its one of the most motivating and important issues when people change jobs.
I've been asked to go to the US to teach next year and apart from many of the boxes that need to be checked before I go, one of them is my my financial situation - salary, super, health insurance, professional indemnity, rent, etc.......
So, I think Mike is quite justified that he should ask for at least a base salary.

True, but as an unqualified factory job I think it's more likely to be somewhat less than half that... And that'd still be more than I'll make this year. If everything was different in my life, I'd be interested.
