Rode K2 valve Mic [with upgraded components]
Posted: Tue Aug 10, 2010 10:15 amWhile the original Rode K2 is a decent mic stock it does have some cheep/ poor quality electrolytic caps and the stock valve is often replaced.
I have upgraded the caps (which were hard to find ones with same voltage rating. found some phillips that suited) and replaced the stock tube with a Phillips (NOS made in Mullard factory). Also replaced one film cap with Wima.
This is a very warm sounding mic now excellent for vocals and was my go to over a Neumann U87 before I modded the U87 also.
Comes with shockmount and original case.
