EMT mono plate reverb
I bought this baby 18 months ago to put into my home studio - problem is its too damn expensive to get it to Tasmania so its still sitting in a studio in Melb -
I have since bought a H8000 and a stereo 4 foot spring that is covering me enough for reverbs (just).
I paid $2200 for it - Offers over $1800 and its yours.

Last chance or I will bite the bullet and pay for its travel, and grab some tough blokes needed to carry it under my house.
These are really great reverbs.

Wow- this is really the dream for me but unfortunately have absolutely no room for it at the moment. Best of luck with the sale (or just suck it up and move it, I'm sure it sounds fantastic!).

does anyone know if a plate reverb can lay on its side? Or does it mess with the tensioning or sag too much?

Never tried it and not 100% sure, but I'd say that'd be a no. I'm pretty sure the frame/springs/transducers/damper etc are all designed for it to be sitting upright. In particular the transducer which is actually attached to the frame (like a speaker coil I'd guess). I don't reckon that thing would enjoy it.

As for mono - I'd say personally that a plate sounds as good, if not better in mono. I reckon at least 50% of the time I use a plate reverb on vocals, it's in mono. Best reverb ever, closely followed by an AKG spring (also better in mono IMHO).

Also whoever is shipping this thing, just be very careful. You need to secure the plate to the frame and remove the transducers. There is a bunch of stuff on the web about this. Mat R might want to chime in about this, he shipped one of my plates down to Melbourne (which reminds me, I'll call you soon about the electronics, have been meaning to call but been busy).

On hold for Harry - payment pending - and there are a few others in line if he cant raise the cash.

I used a furniture moving company to freight it from Sydney to Melbourne. it cost around $400to move it.
