Hey Hercules
You can use a B@#$%^MB8000 meterbridge if you are brave to reverse the connectors!

Hey Hercules,

i have a be!@#$%^& meterbridge - was thinking of using it on a makcie - never plugged it in as i didnt have schematics at hand to verify it would work,

i have never powered it up but it came from a music store as a demo unit -

pm me with an offer if you really need it,

Hey Robin - would you have details on how the be!@#$%^& meter can be used with the mackie?

Hi Harry

You need to file the "locating pin" off the B#$%^^%$ multipin connector housings and insert them in "backwards" into your Mackie, so that the cables have no twist in them.

Regards
Rob

Hi Guys,

An update on this in case anyone is thinking of doing the same:

The B#hr!n^63r MX8000A (Eurodesk) meter bridge definitely works with a Mackie 24.8 desk if you ensure the ribbon cables are reversed. NOTE that these is a trick to this!!

The locating tang on the ribbon connectors can be cut off with a stanley knife - be careful - place the connector (pins down) on a workbench and cut downwards -they slice right off.

NOW here is the trap - you do not twist the ribbon cables - look down inside the connector slots (using a torch) and you will see that the Mackie ribbon sockets have a locating tab towards the front of the desk whereas the Behr***** has them towards the back of the desk.

So many many thanks to Harry for this meter bridge ^:)^ - I now have 48 channel switchable metering for Channels and Tape returns.

Hey Hercules,

nice one - was going to do the same thing (mackie 8 bus for monitor and vu levels off tape ect) but wouldnt have gotten around to it for ages..

glad it worked out for you - good luck to anyone (myself included) who finds a meter bridge on its own again....
