Wanted: Stanton 500 MkII phono carts and styli

Greetings folks,

I have recently been putting together a simple 'retro' broadcast booth for my 8 year old son and just wonder if anyone has a pair of old Stanton 500 Mk II carts (the older gold bodied ones, not the new DJ versions, pref in headshells) so he can slip start 45s and make his own compilations. Doesn't matter if they have had a bit of wear - there is nothing highbrow about this arrangement.

Yes we all have fun with these old boatanchors and Henry is partically savvy re the process of playing 78s and vinyl.

For me, listening to old recordings is always a tantalizing history lesson, and using vintage equipment to facilitate things sets the scene and almost makes time travel possible!

Hi Stephen, I don't have any Stantons, but I think I've got a few Shure SC35 s in Headshells, I'll scratch around and send them down if you'd like.
We used to use them a fair bit.. pretty rugged, conical stylus and can handle back cueing. New stylus still available from WES components for about $12.50

This may be a good prospect esp if I can source cheap aftermarket conical styli from WES. This mono setup is very 'agricultural' but I hope to capture something of that AM sound of yore. The old Leak speakers are great in this setup...anyhow enough raving. I've sent you an email.
