Hey guys,

I am chasing a 24 to 32 channel console (or thereabouts). My little Amek BCII has held up well, but I think it is time to move up well.

Anybody got anything of comparable quality? (IE... no neve/ssl/api desks... as I ain't got the dough! :-w )

Preferably in Sydney too!

Hit me with a pm if you do... particularly if you are looking to move down to something smaller (ie. an Amek BCII!).

Hey Nath,

what configuration is your BCII?
stereo line modules vs mono mic modules(with or without transformer option)
cheers

Hey Sean,

I guess it could be described as a 10 into 4 channel desk.

- 10 mono modules (8 with mic preamps, the other two came factory modded with switchable line inputs [done via the "mic" button). These are the 4 aux modules. I think currently 7 have lundahls on the mic inputs. 1 lundahl on the line inputs. I really should get around to finish the rest off... Direct out cards fitted on the 8 mic channels.

- 2 mono subgroup modules with return inputs at the top (4 aux sends as well).
- 2 mono output modules (non compressor version).

I also have a spare stereo output module, and two spare (for parts basically, they have been stripped but work currently as mono output modules) mono subgroup modules. Has a meter bridge with 4 VU's. I've honestly never figured out what the left two do though. Has a manual with schems and even an explanation/description of the line input mods...

A nice little front end, really...

If I may suggest
Get rid of the desk and get a passive mixer and go hybrid - just another option that should be considered
Unless you can find a GREAT sounding desk ($$$) then the hybrid way is the go.

There is a great sounding auditronics at myplace actually there is two
but one is a big console patchbay 36 frame 24 vu meters etc
lovely beast

the other is a more compact and actually more desirable 24 chn grandson with the modules that everybody racks up
jenson transformers inductor eq its the real deal
the power supplies have issues so it sits unloved
in my warehouse
we keep flipping between pulling it to bits and selling the modules
and hoping somebody turns up that wants a console
it wont be mega bucks but the price will have to be figured out sanely before
it goes for sale
so if you really want a console with tone for miles then lets talk about it

Hey Rick,

I am interested... but a little scared. I'm sure there is a saying that starts with "if you have to ask... "

Is the 32 channel desk an Auditronics 701?

I don't suppose you have a ball park figure for each?

The big console is a 701
i reckon offers over 8 k will do it
the little console is a grandson last version
i reckon 6.5 k - 7 k depending on the whos and whys
we did some figures if you rack and sell the little one
you will gross about 22k

But racking takes time money and effort
none of which is in abundance at my place
well actually there is lots of effort going on :)
neither of the consoles are mine they are both steves
so take the prices as ballpark
if your interested let me know and i will join the dots

to part out such a beast would be a travesty!

Let me see what I can rummage.

First port of call... who wants to buy an Amek BC2?!?
