Hi folks..

Just letting you know, I posted my 1976 Phil Manning model guitar up on eBay just now.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 928wt_1141

Could also be tempted on an interesting trade of some sort, so pitch me any offers if you're interested?

If you could pass on to anyone who might be interested, that'd be great.

Cheers and thanks!
Ev.

I don't think Phil is in that clip. In the vid of festival, the guy claiming to be the best player in the world is Lobby Loyde..... "thats just the whole untrue scene..man!" was also Lobby speaking.
I was working at Maton at the time the Phil Manning guitar was being developed and built. If i remember the body timber was sassafras. Last time i was speaking to Phil he mentioned these days it wasn't his favorite guitar. He is definitely a Strat player.

i have one one these Matons. It is the workshop guitar that i use to test out amps after repairs etc.

It always amazes me how heavy a guitar it is, especially considering how much of the body is hollowed out. In fact there is enough space in the cavities to put an amp! . .. Some thing my brain has toyed with on and off over the last 25 years.

Strangely just today I stumbled across the original coil switching knob that I took off the guitar when I modified the wiring 20 years ago. The knob was living in the bottom of my assorted second-hand knob drawer.
