I jumped on the band wagon and purchased EZdrummer when it was $99 through audiomidi. Now it is just $79!

Tough times in the drum sampling game.

what does one get with the pack?
I understand there is a whole bunch of midi drum tracks, but can the individual samples be used in Protools?
Like for sound replacing?
Are they standard 48khz wav's?
How many drum tracks, samples etc?
Is there room versions as well as close mic's?

EZdrummer is pretty basic.
For people with experience mixing real drum sessions, Superior is recommended. Although a couple of pro's I've spoken with prefer EZdrummer because it's so quick and easy.
To use 'The Classic EZX ($39) you first need parent software (EZdrummer or Superior) then ideally a DAW.
Neither EZdrummer or Superior do drum replacing themselves, but a drum replacer like Drumagog that spits out midi can trigger the sounds in Superior and EZdrummer (via midi).
The samples aren't wavs. The samples themselves can only be accessed from within EZdrummer or Superior - until you record them to audio anyway.
EZdrummer is 44.1khz/16 bit.

I got some IKMultimedia stuff in a cheap bundle from them last year using Paypal but they have dropped it for international orders.

I give two thumbs-up for Toontrack. I use Superior with a decent handful of the expansions and absolutely love it. Twisted kit, Nashville, Latin, they are worth every penny spent. I'm sure like DAWs that people swear by their particular drum software, but I often find myself wondering why you'd need to use anything else. Excellent for well crafted sounds and a great asset for songwriters to pull 'song-ready' grooves into a session. The only other one I'm interested in trying is the Abbey Road series...60s & 70s. Demos I've heard of that sound amazing. Anyone using?

I hope the tom waits drum sample library for EZdrummer is discounted. That thing sounds knarly.
