JLM Audio FC500 MINT condition for sale
Hi everyone,
I am downsizing my setup a bit. On offer I have the JLM Audio FC500 in mint condition bought around a year ago...
A FET compressor based on the 1176 with continuous ratio, attack, release, and a HPF sidechain!
Especially on bass, snare and kick this comp rocks. Add the HPF Sidechain and you have a fatter signal, process the whole signal and you get the "classic" type of compression . The FC500 covers everything (really!) from "invisible" ;-) ehm.. inaudible compression, clean enough for stereo bus duties (yep, linkable) to "fully-sick-in-your-face-aggression". I find it considerbly more useful for the latter category, as it can really push things forward as well as transform a timid bass into a grumpy, hairy animal. Snares get a beautiful pop and, if so desired, a long sustained body, plus if smashing drums into oblivion is your alley, the FC500 is certainly up to the task! On kicks this compressor adds something, which makes them fuller, yet not too woolly. The definition in the mix is improved. Electronic kicks, particularly seem to benefit from the colouration of the output transformer. I like the comp on guitars, again, I'd say anything "heavy" is more exciting with this comp than acoustic stuff. But everyone is different...
In essence a vastly expanded 1176 type comp with massive amounts of attitude plus HPF sidechain, half the price of a
rack unit.
Price: AUD 950.00
Any questions, just ask.
