Digidesign Expansion HD6 chassis

Hi, I'm putting my Digidesign HD Expansion Chassis up for sale, as it is sitting in a box doing nothing.

With all of the dirt cheap HD cards floating around (I saw a HD3 go for well under $2K on Ebay), my plan was to buy a few and create a little monster rig. But I never got around to it, and am frankly now unlikely to.

For the benefit of the less Pro Tools savvy:
This device is a big box into which you can stick six HD-PCIx cards, and then connect them to a PCI-e Mac. PCIx cards are the first generation of HD cards (PCIe was the second). All current Mac Pros have PCIe slots. The last Mac to have a PCIx slot was the 2005 PowerMac G5 2.5. Hence this box allows you to use older HD cards with a newer Mac.

So much for "spin" - here's the dirt: This box only works with Version 8 and below. It's a damn decent box, but there ARE better chassis on the market, eg the Magma. HD cards are useless without an interface box (eg 192 IO, 96IO or various third party options.)

I'm only selling the chassis, (which includes PCIe host card and a connector cable). I have no spare HD cards or interfaces to sell.

$400 firm, pickup in Sydney preferred. Only listed here at TRF.

Sure do. It is no longer sitting around in the studio and is now sitting around in my spare bedroom at home.
