FS: Casio CZ-1000 vintage synth

i've got too many synths at the moment (ok i know there's no such thing... but i am literally tripping over keyboards at the moment, and need to fund some other ventures), so this very cool Casio CZ-1000 (vintage approx 1985) is up for grabs.

i took this guy apart and gave it a clean up, fixed up a dodgy mod wheel, and installed a backlit LCD (the original still works fine and will be included as a spare). I planned to install a contrast adjustment but didn't get around to it - but it's a quick and easy job should you want to.

i was going to replace the volume fader which was a bit scratchy but after some use it has come good, so i've left it.

cosmetically it has a few marks and scratches - i've tried to represent it as accurately as possible in the photos. the case has some scuffs and blemishes, but is solid. all the buttons work. it is missing the battery cover but the tape i have used in it's place does the job just fine.

be aware that it is getting on for 30 years old and like any synth of similar vintage, it is sold without any guarantees. however it is in great shape internally and is in perfect working order.

i've recorded some snippets of some of the presets as well as a couple of my own patches to give you a brief intro to the sound of the synth. they are recorded directly into protools with no processing other than an MXR Carbon Copy delay (which adds a little noise and distortion, bare that in mind). go here to look and listen - http://wezprictormusic.posterous.com/pr ... when you do your research on this cool little guy, you might find some people saying that it's hard to program... this is complete bollocks as it's actually very straight forward. the samples in the link were programmed by me after less than an hour's experience with the machine, and none took more than a couple of minutes to cook up. oh and note that my programs all only use one oscillator and barely scratch the surface of what the CZ-1000 is capable of. i've actually sampled some of my sounds for use on a new record, i like it a lot.

Pickup is welcome in Melbourne, message me for details. And as it's quite light and compact, shipping interstate is no problem.

$180 for you guys.
