SOLD CAD Trion 8000 Tube Mic with Capsule and Tube Upgrades
Posted: Sat Dec 01, 2012 10:21 amCAD Trion 8000 Tube / Valve mic. I bought this new about 18 months ago, its only been used in my studio so its in great working condition, has a few small cosmetic marks on the body from frequent use.
Stock these mics are pretty good but I was always annoyed by a slightly weird top end. I've upgraded the stock chinese tube to a Mullard NOS tube and also replaced the capsule with a K47 type capsule. Its the RK-47 from Microphone Parts, check out the link here.

This capsule cost $109 US and made a big difference. The weird top end is gone and the mic now has a darker but more detailed sound. Its been great on 'essie' vocalists especially. I have also used it a lot on bass cabs, outside the kick and on brass too.
Included in the auction is everything you see in the picture, hard case, power supply, mic and shock mount. Item is in Rivervale, Perth, WA so local pickup is fine. I'm happy to pull this from ebay for the right offer. I'm after $300 plus $25 postage if outside WA.
