Vintage guitar rig
Hey lads, this is a copy and paste from Melband (so forgive the writing wankery), might interest someone here?
Up for sale is an entire working, plug-n-play vintage rig. Contains:
60's Goldentone Bassmaster 60 (50w, 2x JJ's el34's)
1977 Greco Les Paul Custom Law Suit - Jimmy Page Special edition (early custom shop)
70's Guyatone 2x12 (fender clone)
This rig is all you need for huge vintage sounds, or a killer platform for pedals. If you buy the entire rig I'll also through in a vintage cable (pictured) from a 60's american electro-voice microphone rewired as a guitar cable, a 50cm Lava speaker cable (worth $120), and a coily kettle cord for the amp. Complete plug-n-play rig. Killer for live shows or studio use, versatile and all round amazing tones. (amp/cab can also be used for bass, see below)
Some more info:
The goldie is a huge sounding aussie bassmaster "clone" - think big round cleans, getting into breakup as you wind it right up. Heaps of power, great straight in for spanky cleans or platform for pedals. Bass pot pulls out to cut bass, treble pot pulls out to boost mids (giving a plexi-ish breakup or more grunt to single coils). Dual inputs, guitar and bass, slight tonal differences between the two. Amazing sounding amp, no issues. Few cosmetic marks as pictured, pretty good condition for a 50+ year old amp. Worth around $1800 (there's one on ebay with matching cab for $3600 at the moment).
The Les Paul is from the fabled Fujigen Gakki factory in Japan that handcrafted the "law suit" les pauls for Greco, Aria Pro, Ibanez, Tokai, and others. Super high quality, handmade axes. Google for heaps of info. This one is all original except for a volume pot that was replaced, and is in amazing condition. Smooth action, straight neck, frets at 99% life. Amazing guitar. Hardly a scratch. You can see the beautiful grain in the single-piece top and back (no cheapo bookmatching here).
The bridge pickup cover was removed at the factory as a "Jimmy Page Special" kind of pre-custom shop modification. The collector I bought this from said it was the only one he'd seen in australia - on top of that the customs are quite rare as well compared to the standards. Valued by Global Vintage (sydney) and Swop Shop (Carlton) at over $1400. Comes with vintage hardcase (one clip missing, still completely secure).
The Guyatone cab is a 70's combo (fender twin clone - japanese made) that had the chassis removed, and now is a killer cab. Open backed, loaded with Eminence Delta's (evm12l clones) for perfect reproduction of tone. In pretty beat up condition, but very sturdy. Some wooden struts have been added for extra strengthening, but this aren't actually necessary and can be removed easily (screws). Currently wired for 16ohm to suit the goldentone (which can work on 8 or 16 ohms). Pretty sure the speakers are around 400w each, so cab safely be used for bass guitar as well - as can the amp. Great vintage bass tones to be had from this rig.
What I am offering is the ENTIRE RIG for only 1850 ONO
An extremely generous price for an entirely vintage plug-n-play rig - don't try lowballing me.
TRADES:
- shure sm7
- high quality valve combo
- high end studio preamps or compressors (maybe)
Entire rig is available for testing/pickup in Preston
