FS: Motorised TV lift
Just like james bond would have, only much noisier and much slower
I made this thing out of a timber frame (painted black), a 24VDC power supply, a linear actuator (a big one, used for rotating large satellites) and a TV wall mount bracket. And two guide rails (in fact, they're really those extending attachments for painting) and some very large cable ties to hold it all together - this may sound hack but I assure you it's actually quite awesome
It's noisy, kind of awkward till people realise what's (very slowly) happening. But, 4 minutes or so later and it's a now you see it now you don't deal without you ever having to get up. Given it's downfalls, I love it, it's fantastic, that's about it
SOLD
Dimensions (measured from ground to the top of a 32" tv)
Minimum height: 125cm
Maximum height: 205cm
My 32" tv height: 65cm
Now, because my desk's height is exactly 100cm, I actually cut a hole in the floor and had the base of the actuator 35cm below floor level. so my new minimum height was 90cm, nice so I couldn't see it at all when it was down. And with the max travel of the actuator a 32" tv is a very appropriate size (travels 80cm, tv height a bit under that. any TV up to 75cm high would be fine.
