Hey gents,

I have an unused HD8 backup license activation card. Just plug the numbers into your Avid account and HD8 is yours.
You will need an ilok and ilok account as usual - $90.00 and its yours.

I also have an unneeded Digitranslator plugin for HD8 and earlier. This provides OMF support, etc. $60 including the $25 ilok transfer.

Interested in hd license. This can be upgraded so that all software related hd functions are available even on non-hd systems right?

The wording on the activation card is rather ambiguous - I don't know if its a backup license or a full license.
If its the latter, it is definitely upgradeable.
If it is a backup license... I am not so sure.

I could activate it to an arbitrary avid account and find out?
Whoever buys it could then take over the avid & ilok account.

Wait. Scrap that.

I did just upgrade to HD11 and it gave me the option of surrendering the HD7.3 standard license or the HD7.3 backup license from within the iLok manager (along with my HD8 licenses...). So it does indeed look upgradeable.

I still have the other HD7.3 licenses in my ilok account. It only swallowed the backup licenses.
