I'm looking to buy some analog synths.

Yamaha CS-80
Oberheim 2-Voice (or 4voice) vintage not reissue
Korg Mono/Poly
Oberheim Matrix 12
ARP Quadra
Roland System 100 (modular)
EMS VCS3 or synthi
Octave Cat

also looking for a nice condition 80s Simmons SDS drum kit.
Not all at once obviously but am keen to chat to anyone interested in selling any of the above.

Not to mention if you want them from Aus you'll be looking for a looong time, with the exception of the Mono/Poly and System 100m.

Perhaps I need to elaborate since a few of you think this is a joke.
I haven't bought any gear for 5 years.(!) nothing.
In that time I've sold off a lot of gear and been working long days and weekends non stop, and now I'm going to relax a bit and treat myself to some pieces I couldn't afford in the past. I don't intend to buy all the synths I listed above, just mentioned them in the hope I might find a couple of them around here. Probably aside from the Cs-80 of which I know of about 3 in Australia, and perhaps the matrix 12, most of the others I mentioned there are a fair few of around.

I also know a guy who knows a guy who may have some hard to find gear, but I'm not sure if he wants to part with anything. I'll put the word out...

It's personal of course, but if I had the coin I wouldn't be buying old gear when there's so much cool new analog stuff out these days, for example:

There was an Oberheim 4 voice avail recently but it needed work...and that's the thing...the people that repair these are dropping like flies ! In 20 years time nobody will service these things.

I'm happy to look at fixer uppers..
I've managed to do most repairs myself over the years..

So I've spoken to the friend of a friend who's got a number of things on your list, but he sadly (for you) isn't looking to sell them. He's got (amongst other things):

ARP 2600
Korg Mono/Poly
EMS VCS3
EMS synthi (AKS)
Octave Cat

I'll send you a PM later today with his contact details, as he's happy to chat. Maybe he's got some tips about sourcing these kinds of things.

Now that is such a thing of beauty to me despite that fact that I would probably never actually use it. What a magnificent piece. Never ceases to amaze what treasures people have stashed away in their basements. Must have taken some dedication to have that monster shipped from the U.S.
I have to admit I would love to buy that but I'd rather save my money for something of the analog variety, and a little smaller and less complex!

There is always a way so you never know. When I was looking for Optro and whatever else i could lay my hands on gear, It just happened that Les Craythorn in the above story had purchased modules from Melbourne uni when they failed to sell at auction years and years ago and where going to be thrown out. Les couldn't see good gear go into the bin and wasn't allowed to get it free so he forked out the cash bought the old Optro desk modules and they sat in his shed for years. I would hazard a guess that if it wasn't for Les, that EMS would have gone to the tip years ago.
So if you have a passion for the rare esoteric, keep hoping and hunting.
Here is a story of how it often goes...........In this case it was cutting edge digital video capture storage and editing but it applied to eccentrics who collect audio. I met this bloke who had sold his Skill chainsaw and mower business. He wanted to pick my brains about audio for vid and when i cot to his home editing suite he had the latest, I think it was Sony, system already installed and operating! Ch 9 was using his set up to test and prep themselves as they where getting it soon! Now why would someone not even earning a quid have the best of best gear? Well there are bits of audio sitting in sheds around OZ for the same eccentric unexplainable reasons.

I heard some of it too, really interesting that he knew so much of the history of it.. sounded like a great reunion of sorts. I'm going to go and have a look at it soon..

Les is the real deal! Knows the history because he is part of it. He also did a lot of live recording especially jazz........sort of like the Myles of Melba Hall

I need to move some gear on from my studio (we've just had our first baby) so some extra funds might be handy.

I have a beautiful original Korg MS-20 Synth ( and the original carry case!) that is now up for sale. It gets better.. i also have the matching Korg SQ-10 Sequencer for it. They are ultra rare. Bunch of patch cables as well for the MS-20.

Had a gereral service about 3 years ago. Ive never gigged it. It is in fantastic cosmetic condition. The SQ-10 included with it.. Im looking for a price around $2300. Its the case and SQ-10 that make this a very attractive buy. The new 'mini' MS-20 doesn't compare to this. Wicked fat basses and leads.. it just screams.

Having a monophonic synth with the oscialltors this one does really does sit in a collection very well. An awesome piece of kit that I will miss. The value of a package like this in years would be a pretty penny.

Not on your list, but Found Sound in Carlton have/had a SCI Prophet T8... mind you, thay are chasing $10k, down from $12k for it...
