My multimeter has bit the dust (it was already old and crap). Can anyone recommend a new one with all the bells and whistles. Different probe types and uses....etc.

Many thanks in advance
Ben

i just got an automatic one (dont have to select ranges) from jaycar today.
cost me 30$ or there abouts....has temp prob as well as the regular probes.
brand is digitech...

my opinion should be taken with a tonne of salt, i know shit all about electronics, looked good for the price to my dumb ass tho!

Cool thanks J.

I'm looking for something that'll last a while and has all functions and different types of probe cables. Looking to spend around $100-$150. Can't afford Fluke units by the looks of things.
What are people using and what can you recommend in this range?

Thanks

I've bought 3 ~$30 meters in the last 3 years, the last 2 from Jaycar and now I need a new one, you can guess why ..... those cheap ass ones are CRAP.

Sorry can't recommend one for you, but stick to your plan to spend a reasonable sum of money, hopefully it will last many years

Yeah...I hear ya...buy well made one once, or a crappy thrice. Good call guy's and even Gian tuning in from Italy can manage to be the little voice inside my head. :)

H, here I am in Perugia, Italy. Left so much of my electronics building stuff in Australia, makes me sad. Then I read about Kristian (in year in review thread) and it makes you think about the important things in life.

I've been practicing my guitar heaps more though - it's been good.
