If you want a rack unit there are a few projects listed on groupdiy, look for the s800 eq (trident copy), or the 1081 eq, or the 1073 eq, or the sontec.
If you want a 500 series check out the api eq on classicapi.com or the various eqs for that system (there are quite a few) but most are three band rather than 4.
If you want to rack up an existing module then you could do the Ward Beck 462b eqs as they are 4 band with fully swept frequencies and swept q control too. These are as flexible an eq as I can think of and sound excellent.
You could also have a go at this if your up for it. It's not mine but it looks doable.

thanks a bunch will go and check them out.
Not really after 500 series as my existing rack is full.
I like my API550B, I only have the one, I would like something with decent HPF on it. Was actually discussing with Rob the possiblity of building a set of 8 or so custom HPF's racked.
I dont really want a big honking console in front of me, I like the ergonomics I have now.
What would be ideal, would be a small format mixer, I mean small. That had really good eq in it.I don't need sends, faders , when I was was on the phone to allen and heath, I asked them about building the EQ section out of the ZED R16 as a 8 channel line in and out device... they agreed, and said they had many enquiries about it.
Even cheaply bought, API500bs another 7 is gonna run me 6 grand with new api rack.
I was wondering about modding some of the existing cheaper mixers, like Allen and Heaths ZED series as they arent using surface mount ..
thanks
