Hi folks,

name is ant and i have a studio down in chippendale ("the ant house")....just upgrading my setup to control 24, lots of amek, focusrite reds, ua's etc....to make this a worth while exercise i am also looking to build a third room onto the studio with site lines, separation, soundproofing etc. i would also like to upgrade the proofing and sonics of my current two rooms. as such i am on the hunt for a a studio designer/builder in the sydney area. I have already met one guy who has a good rep. his name is trevor and works alot with richard priddle...did love htz studios, big jesus burger, etc. I would obviously love to find another couple of guys capable of doing the job well to compare quotes, styles, etc. Note: alot of other muso's have been saying that they have a mate...or know a guy...who can do this stuff but my gut feeling is that the standard i want will require not just a muso who can build, but a professional with experience

anyway, if anyone can recommend a talented professional in this aera i would greatly appreciate it?

kind regards to all of you out there!

cheers

ant whitehouse ( the ant house)

A very good Studio builder we've used for years at Radio 2UE as well as some of our other projects is "Van Veen Brothers" They do a lot of work for Peter Brown (Architects) and did our complete build of 2UE's new home in Greenwich including 5 On Air studios, 5 Production suites, Newsbooths, Voice Booths, Control rooms etc .
Their work is exceptionally good and they understand acoustic requirements

I agree that Van Veen Bros are the best around.

I've been involved with them on several projects over the last 20 years, inlcuding Rhinoceros studio 2, Freight Train (Jimmy Barnes), The Basement studios. They do the best building work I've seen.

regards,

Otto
