Great site Barney. Looks like we all need to help him with his Optro section though.

I love the pic of the 56 olympics showing all the Byer tape machines.

Can't really take credit but I thought there would be a few people here interested or able to add to it.

Just took a look at the site, and noticed there was a few manuals for the Sydney Transmission Products equipment.

I'm after a manual for one of their products, this is what is written on the front panel, "A.P.O. T.M.S. No 2 MARK 2. TRANSMISSION PRODUCTS PTY. LTD. NORTH SYDNEY AUSTRALIA".

I know nothing about it other than it appears to be some kind of old valve preamp from the 50's?, wondering if anyone can help with any info on this piece?

Cheers.

sounds like it's an Australian Post Office Transmission Measurement Set #2 Mk2. Pretty useless for much else I suspect...

Yeah, that's what came to my mind too, no idea what APO stands for. Anyway, huge name but it's definitely a lovely old tube pre of some description.

I might actually start another thread with pics, could be more helpful.

Hey guys,

Does anyone have info on the TRANSMISSION PRODUCTIONS (Pty Ltd, Sydney) products?
Not much on the site referenced.

Interested to learn more about their limiters / pre-amps etc

From what I hear, this company was bought out by AWA in the 60's???

Cheers!
Evan
