Hi all
Hope this is the right place to post this
I'm in Milan at the moment almost 7am. Korean airlines was very good and about 8hrs flying time to Seoul. The people seem very polite and kind-had a little walk around in the morning before our bus took us back to the airport for our final leg.
I kept getting stopped at security checks because I had these microphones and recording devices in my onboard luggage. I also had a "random" explosives check and frisk in Sydney. They almost didn't let me take my guitar onboard in Seoul but that was sorted out after working out that the lady speaking to me was actually saying to go to counter "B" and not "P" to check-in and acquire a green tag for my guitar, then we walked through and no one blinked an eye.
11 hours from Seoul to Milan, and that was long enough. Arrived at Milan airport at 5pm local time, I showed my Italian passport and the guy hardly looked at it, it was almost with disinterest, while when I gave him My daughter's Australian passport he brightened up and gave her a stamp - I didn't get a stamp.
Then going thought customs, the men there just look like spy's dressed in civilian clothes but have an air of authority, we had nothing to declare so we started walking through, we get yelled at: "where did you come from", my friend says "Australia", and we get ignored again and waved off as they go back to riffling through someone else's bag.
Two trains later and a metro (tram) and we arrive at hotel Gala. How funny, I leave Australia and the hotel we are staying in here in Milan is called Gala, however in Italian the pronunciation always puts the accent on the second last vowel.
Going to go to "il duomo" today which just means the dome, but I think it is the biggest baroque one in Italy. Oh and I'll probably have a beer and pizza
Tomorrow we catch the very fast train (4hrs) to Perugia.
