Thought a thread dedicated to all things beer might be in order. Because the other thread beer featured in was about what you do when nobody is looking........ I'd hate to think it encouraged any closet drinking, so here it is, out in the open in all it's health amber glory:)
To kick things off, a pic of some of the emptys of beers and stouts I have sampled over the past few months.
NB: if the mods deem this inappropriate then we can change the thread title to gourmet ( or is it boutique) sausages, prawns and BBQ's and beer could be discussed as a peripheral.

Love the Red Hill Brewery. They show off there hops at the front door and have a fine variety of beer.

I think your suggestion of BBQ's and beers is a more inclusive topic Chris. I'd say some forum members don't drink beer or drink.
On a personal note, I'd like some good (unusual) marinades for the summer season seeing I'm about to clean up the BBQ and fire it up.

Ok,good points. Hopefully the Mods can rename the thread Bangers BBQ's and Beer. And the Red Hill brew is a top beer and it's just up the hill a short 30 minute drive. Haven't got any suggestions for marinade but have just learnt a great way to cook a Kangaroo steak. Throw a bit of oil in a hot skillet and some garlic, then the steak. Pour a bit of red wine over the stake, and this is the new discovery, cover the skillet with a lid and let the steak steam cook for a few minutes. Then remove the lid and cook as normal. I usually cook steak in a cast iron skillet but this would work equally well on the BBQ if you found a dome lid to cover the steak with. This results in a much more tender steak and also cooks the steak to a medium rare when the outside is nicely cooked.

The Crabbies has a fantastic ginger taste and is super refreshing. The Cider is great for the afternoon relax, but make sure it's very cold (hence the name) for it to taste good!
