Looking for one to control an MS-10 and a Frostwave resonator. Any aussie ones around?

I use the Frostwave Quad MIDI to CV! They are discontinued now, but you still might be able to get one by googling around.
I use mine all the time. They are/were made by Paul Perry in Melbourne, who is of course Mr Frostwave.

Yeah I've been looking for one used but had no luck - looks like the bullet will have to be bitten. $650 ouch!!!

I have a frostwave quad midi-cv plus that hasn't been used in a while - I could be convinced to part with it...

what's a fair price for one these days?

I can impartially say I have seen them for sale online at Music Swap Shop for $400-450, but they sold the last 2 very quickly.
The swap shop also had the Frostwave 2 channel box, but the 4 channel box is more useful (to me, anyway).

It also does DIN synch, which is useful!

Yea, I second the Frostwave Quad CV.. very versatile..

You could also consider buying a Synhouse Midi Jack Hz.. that would only be good if you want to midify your MS10..

The Midijack only does Pitch and gate, and does no support pitchbend, but it is pretty cheap ($110US).. This is more of a modification tho.

well, I'd happily do $350 plus actual aus post cost anywhere in Aus....

Hi no-fi - I'll have to pass at the moment. I'm probably going to go with one of the kits out there. Wouldn't be using it enough to justify the $$$ and it has more options than i need.

Mmm, the $350 is an excellent price. I am sure you will sell it for that.
Unfortunately I can't justify a second one although it's quite tempting!

My experience with the Quad CV is that if you do any CV/Gate at all, it is
indispensable. You can drive 4 mono synths with it, Moog/Korg or Roland format
or it can be used to trigger several modes of a modular, plus it can be a trigger
to MIDI box via the joystick breakout. Oh, it does DIN sync as well!

The only thing in the same class that works properly is the Roland MPU-101
but they are pretty rare now.

mike - let me know sometime if you're interested. no real hurry, but I should probably shift it soonish if I'm going to get rid of it.

I would love too, but I'm building a few new toys (Another Sequencer & MB6582) so thats just taken up my finances.

The MB6582 has 8 Sids(!) and is one mean synth.

If you are not in a hurry to sell, I might ask you of it in a few months, and If you still have it and are willing to sell, that would be great!

yeah, we'll see how it goes.

talking to ed about selling it, he reckons I might be silly to get rid of it anyway - as it looks like we're both going to go the DIY modular route a little bit, eventually, once we have some nice signal chain stuff built up (some GSSL bits on the way already!) and the frostwave would be great for a modular, with all those outputs nicely placed on the front...

But yeah - I do have other CV converters anyway, and I do really need to sell some things to reduce gear for an upcoming move at the end of the year - so will see how it fares when I start seriously deciding what goes and what stays.

Has anybody used an Encore Expressionist or the EES7? And how much of the added feature set, say over the Kenton Pro-2000, would you typically use?

aaaaah man.. ebay is insane.

Worldwide auction and a low aussie dollar would be my guess on that one. I'd put your one up before the US dollar tanks again - which looks very likely.
