Hey Guys,

anyone have any experience in getting the keys on a Solina to play nice?

A couple of them re trigger when you let go of the key(s)

the keys look uneven - the seller had it serviced by logitronics - and the keys were fixed but maybe not perfectly...

...anyway this is better than drugs

...anyone know how to add an external audio input to the phaser/flanger/delay in this thing?

LOVE it!

I saw a Solina a few years ago that had been rebuilt into a Jarrah cabinet.

It was for sale for $1000 and I missed it....

The schems for the solina are pretty easy to find, installing an external input into it's 'ensemble' type effect should not be that hard.

I did actually replace the case of mine with jarrah.. but never put it up for sale..
When I got mine, the front face was badly rusted, so in a fit of getting things chromed, I got the face chromed, and replaced the lamp with a much much sexier one.
Also, a Solina through a moogerfooger phaser is pure 'war of the worlds' material..

But, back to the keyboard action.. The solina's uses (As far as I can tell, by looking at it when i had it in bits) standard 'pratt-reed' bushings for it's keyboard action.

these have degraded over the last 30-40 years and turn to crunchy toffy. hmmm.

The symptoms are clacky keys.. uneven keys..

As for the double keys, that sounds like poor contacts.. the solina's is real fancy with a real protected keyboard mechanism.. I've never taken that apart. but it should not be too hard.

I haven't seen a Solina in for service in a long time. If it is a Pratt Reid action you can replace the bushings and it will be like silk to play, but for heavens sake, when you are removing and replacing the key springs, wear safety glasses.
