I think those two would be too small for my setup though, I'm sold on the Event TR6's really a perfect set for me, so I'll get those.

my mate has the EMES monitors and i wouldnt ever buy or even take them off his hands for free. tinny, flat and all round yucky. i'd rather have those little edirols than them haha!@. like Smash said, you can get all that great gear for 3k or a set of great monitors for 3k. It all comes down to their application. My 2 cents worth, the yamaha HS80s with the hs10 sound great, the KRK rockits are great, the genelecs are great and the events apparently have the most even response for that kind of application but in my mind after listening to a few different types of speakers the mackie HR824mk2s are my choice. i banged out a few funk/hiphop live recordings then some heavy sub hiphop and then some club jazz and they were clear as crystal on every single track. just my opinion y'all. now i just have to save more sneaky coin and get a pair......

I've heard that about the Emes a lot actually, would be a shame for anyone to fork out that much and after getting them then realising something half the price is way better.

Yeah the Mackie's are really nice but soo expensive, and the 824's are big, too big for a room my size. I'll be getting the Events next year I reckon and they'll be a real benefit to really getting into this whole music thing properly ;)
