Hi guys n girls,
i'm considering getting some "reference" monitors for that exact purpose.
There is a pair of jbl 4312's on evilbay, apparently they came from a "studio", the price is fairly low atm, just wondering if anyone has ever owned these or knows of someone that owns them? The specs are available on the page, the only thing that i'm not liking is the 91dB@1W-1m spl rating and the freq range cutoff of 15kHz.
as they would only be used as reference monitors i'm wondering if a max bid of 300 max for them is too much? apparently they were quite pricey back in the day so i think 300 is ok for 2nd hand speakers. i've read a few reviews from audiophile and hi-fi sites but i would much rather rely on info from the brains here than elsewhere.

Hi there,
Mick..only 15 minutes ago I was listening to my JBL 4311 (which are kinda close).
There's not a great deal of crispy top end there, and they certainly don't sparkle like my (just gone)
Focal Twins (and they sure won't sound like my ATC 100's !!)
But, for $300 you can't go wrong..and you'll really appreciate the bottom end.
Plus they're classic and they're JBL...yay for the old school !
Cheers
