I'm trying to move into 2014... and actually considering buying my first plug in..
Vocodex: http://www.image-line.com/plugins/Effects/Vocodex/
So i loaded the demo, but htf does route such a plug (needs a carrier and a modulator routed to it) in cubase 6?
I believe it seems to be something to do with side chaining in Cubase 6?
and yes, i've scoured the internet and found that there are mentions of how to side chain in cubase using a 'side chain capable cubase' plug, but no mentions (as far as i can tell) that mention how to route 'vocodex' specifically. The 'vocodex' people have a tutorial online showing how to route it in FL, but no mention of how to do it in Cubase..
Would anyone with Vocodex and cubase, or cubase an a vocoding plug in, care to chime in?
or better yet.. sell me a Roland SVC-350?
Thanks in advance.

I haven't used Cubase 6 in quite a while, but generally you put the audio on one track, and feed that into a MIDI channel with the vocoder plugged into it.
Under the audio track there are output options, and instead of routing it to the audio outputs, you route it into the MIDI channel with the vocoder over it.
Here's a video which seems to explain it fairly well (despite the bad audio and heavy accent).

I've set up vocoder plugs on a stereo group track before. Send the carrier to the group panned hard left, send the modulator to the group panned hard right, then you select the sources in the plugin, ie carrier - left etc.
It depends on the plug itself and how it operates.
