How does one put their music on i-tunes ?

Postby NYMo » Thu Aug 20, 2009 8:59 pm

Hi there,

This is for the newbies like me who don't know how to do it !

I had a poke around the itunes store, support etc but found nothing.

Maybe someone can point us in the right direction ?

Cheers

Whats the latest thinking out there on who to use for digital distribution for an indi album, with exposure to as many stores as possible.

We have kind of shortlisted CD Baby, Tunecore and Songcast.

Anyone else to consider or reasons to avoid.

you need an itunes aggregator, there is a mob in brisbane who does a stack of aussie indie itunes stuff ,
keep the money in australia and all that

i just cannot think of their name this morning , but google will know

Brisbane aggregate was musicadium but they were taken over last year by valleyarm (think they kept on some staff). Still worth a look.

Depending on your audience www.bandcamp.com may be a good alternative / addition to itunes distro.

musicadium was the place i was think of - thanks

i have often thought of being an itunes aggregator - even gone as far as sorting out the tangles with apple registering the name blah blah blah

i can tick all the right boxes as to access to bands - known brand... etc etc

the only box i dont tick is the important one

- the 'do i really want to be doing this" box

my form keeps getting a question mark put in that box :)

you cant do everything well - so just do what you do is the thought that comes to mind
