A bit corny and a bit early....lol.

OK, just been experimenting a bit more with Orchestration and Composing and trying to get my virtual instruments to sound a bit more realistic with reverbs. Also trying to implement some of the tips from Tim and Andy in relation to using chamber reverbs and how to use small and big rooms.

Here is very short piece called "Prelude to 2010"

Happy 2010 (it's early I know) and thanks everyone for the great tips and advice!

All this time I have off is great. Spending most of the day in the studio means I can keep experimenting!

So this is better piece than the "Prelude to 2010" and they don't sound anything like each other. Just couldn't think of a better name for this. Got a little inspiration (and I mean a little) from watching the trailer for "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus".

Yeah after I made that second one I realised how boring the first one was. Lol. I'm starting to find that these type of mixes are translating quite well to my car, iPod clock radio and ear phones. I'm using that small reverb and big reverb effect that Andy spoke of and it gives me good realism. Love that technique! In cutting a little bass from a lot of the instruments which cleans it up a bit too.

Sorry to flog this thread....

I've been talking to people on the Northern Sounds/Garritan composing forum and they felt it needed more layers and progressiveness and a slower melody to contrast the fast movement.

The second half kicks in with a French Horn, Violin slower melody. Tubular bells were kept for an ending progression. Some flute flutters and handbells here and there.

For your amusement...
