Anyone have any idea what this thing is?? saw this at the mastering facility at 301 studios. asked Leon what it was, he said he had no clue, but he got it since it looked "vintage"

Looks like some sort of testing unit to me. I know that AVO make tube testing units etc....

I had one of these once at an old company I worked for about 8 years ago.
it's a an AVO meter (mk1 by the looks??)
It's a really nice moving coil multimeter.
from memory, you get AC and DC V and A and resistance measurement....
Not worth a lot of money ($50ish?) but if it's for sale around that price and you don't want it I'd buy it for myself..

hmm, it's be a stretch calling that thing a mystery.
i would have thought AVO = amps, volts, ohms. just a hunch ;-0

I think its definitely a stretch calling that a mystery... let your fingers to the typing and you get...

Besides, does nobody use multimeters or electrical test equipment these days?

rick - next time you see one in OK working condition for a reasonable (or really cheap!) price, I'd love to know about it!
these are really nice meters to use, and I could use another multimeter.
Actually, it's one of the few things I miss about the job where I had one....
