A semi-related video/film question.
Hey guys,
I have a video project coming up that ideally would
use a bunch of existing video footage as a component
within the film. Things such as new footage, etc.
I'm quite familiar with video/film, but really have
very little clue about sourcing pre-recorded material
like news footage. Where do I start?
One could assume... tv stations. ABC, etc. Perhaps
the national film archive in Canberra?
...But, will this be successful? I don't doubt most footage
is restricted via some kind of copyright and I have a
sneaking suspicion that such a small budget won't yield
much at all.
The film depends on it in a rather substantial way, so
the real first step is getting release forms signed to
use this kind of footage.
