Are you wanting 2 mics rather than a stereo mic? Chris P I think was talking about an AT stereo mic recently for about $700-ish that was good too. IMHO a good stereo is a godsend to save messing with setups and carrying extra stuff around if you are doing only stereo but obviously you can't separate the 2 diaphragms if you want to without a hacksaw.
I was listening to shootout on GS that had the C42s and Mk012s, they both seemed nice in different ways and I've put them on the short list. Also interested in the Bees Neez Lulu fet kit but can't find much info on them.
As far as stereo mic goes, I thought about it and while it would be very handy I'm leaning toward a pair because i'd like more options when it comes to acoustic guitar.
Thanks for the warning on the fake Oktava's - I'd only heard about the fake 57s and 58s
