k, so i've editefd this to be a gutitar questioon thred. so i have 1 place to pollute the world with my noob questions

hey guys, thoiught id stick this here so as not to annoy you'z with more bullshit!

im buying pickups for my squier strat this week....and i want to get a p90 for the middle position on the strat....i was given an option of getting this RWRP...

does anyone know if this is done to the pickup if it will be hum cancelling when i'm playing it on its own in the center position...

the other pickups are a kinman woodstock in the neck (noiseless) and Seymour Duncan SH-6 in the bridge...i could ask this on a guitar forum, but i dont need more phorums!

As far as I can recall, RWRP are only humbucking when combined with either of the other pickups ie - on the in between switch positions, although still not as much as both coils of one humbucker pickup. On it's own it is still a single coil and has no other reference to cancel against if you get my drift. Watchya wanna do is make yourself a suit out of foil to wear when you play it, and attatch a little wire between your sleeve and the E string.
I do love P90's. I don't have a guitar with them. Wish I did.

gah, i thought that was the case, im not sure why the knob who was answering my emails said this might help in the middle position, he may have been thhinking of a gibson middle position...

oh well...

The Kinman P90X is a great sounding "noiseless" pup, you might want to think about grabbing one.
