[quote="tunetown"]My MC77 arrives on the 25th. They must be on the same shipment. I wonder how close they got the 500 series module to the rack unit. We should do a shootout.

OK as soon as they land we'll do it. If the Action is close, it will mean 2 comps for less then the price of one.
Peter you need to get a lunch box man.

Ha!!
Well, when you have a 14 space rack almost full of API gear and Brent Averill mic pre's, then what do you expect!!
The MC77 will finish off the rack beautifully Pete - no doubt about it..

Hey Heath
Look what I did, I'm a bad boy. Pity you're building your house, the colour purple would suite you.

Seriously though I am pretty keen to hear them.

The purple are in.
Purple Action and the Purple MC77, made by the same company, sound great but the MC77 sounds bigger and grab the peaks faster without going into distortion or the dreaded squish. Some of you guys really need to get a lunch box and get the Action comps, why, because they are cheap and they work.

These purple things sound bloody great, the 500 series one sonded great on voc and snare, nice and naturally ummmm bright, got the snare cracking and was still smooth enough for vox.
The MC77 totally different beast, I though the sound of it on a soloed track was less than impressive, but drop the mix back in and it sounded fantastic, smooth and big sounding on vox, for bass it worked extremely well with plenty of bottom, it just seems to smooth things out very nicely.
I'll givem both thumbs up for sure.
