hi there,
just wondering if anyone could shed some light on the implementation of the power amp in talkboxs, in particular the rocktron banshee? ive been reading various reviews and just trying to gauge how something that runs 100w comp driver can actually benefit from having a 5w power amp. if anyone has first hand experience with the issue i would love to hear your ideas. i do not hail from an electronics background. so any input is good input.
thanks heaps.

i dont know that actual box , but the talk boxes i have had and built over the years always ran the amp in mega distortion mode .
so having a 5 watt amp in full clip makes that much easier then having the spl of a 100 amp blowing your mouth and fillings into a zillion bits as it clips.
see if you can find craig andertons book electronic projects for musicians
it will show anybody how to build one for about $100 .
or alternatively it will explain just how and why they work
