Relic AWA tube mic pre's and power amp, trash or treasure?

I've got hold of an old tube AWA PA system a friend aquired from the old Hawthorn town hall.
It has six mic pre's and a power amp section plus a speaker switching part, all chock full of tubes and transformers, very sexy looking.
It's has been uninstalled a bit roughly, wires cut etc. It also has non standard I/O sockets.
I wan't some opinions on weather it's worth paying someone (like Rob?) to recondition and rack up the pre's and maybe the power amp.
I've got some good pics but nowhere to host them (any offers?).

My guess is it won't be "studio" quality re noise etc, but if it's not too far gone will sound ok.The job would be to get 6 direct outs for the pre's. I have a Raycothon valve amp from a theatre with a mic pre and a whopping great power amp, and also an STC Pa amp with phono and mic pre but can't justify the cost of getting them going when there is much better gear around.

Chris H - I wondered about the noise factor on the pre's, it was designed for a PA system after all, i'm not sure how much the designs differ for PA/studio applications back in the day. I'm sure some re-capping would improve the situation though as the caps in this unit are fossils.

Rob - Thanks, but I'm actually quite adept at trashing equipment myself, but I'll happily email you some pics to get your take on the matter if you're interested.

yep send me some pics....love that sort of stuff

you never know, just 'cause it was for a PA, the quality might be quite good. AWA didn't usually do things by halves. Might just need some adapting for the studio world.
and.....there is nothing wrong with a bit of noise!
