Country music co-writes?

Postby Chinagraf » Wed Feb 11, 2009 5:57 pm

Hey y'all, recently I've been developing a bit of a hankerin to do some co-writing with country artists. My main background is dance music. I have a decent pedigree as a writer (I co wrote a number one on the US Billboard Dance charts last year) but all my contacts are dance/electronic types.
I'm not looking to change my direction, just something I'd like to start doing a bit of as more of a love thing rather than money. My dad was a country muso in the states, so I grew up on the stuff.
I've checked out the CMA site and a few others but thought maybe someone here might know of a few other forums or communities. I talking about the more contemporary type country music but really anything to do with the scene here would be interesting.
Thanks,

Andy

about a month late for Tamworth! Coulda walked around dropping cards in everyones guitar cases...

seriously though, i met a few young-ish country artists at a gig recently and while the old school country 'style' some of their crossover bluegrass stuff is just unreal... i didn't think any young city folk played 'country'

listen to some nickel creek, chris thile, sean watkins and punch brothers for some inspiration

its the number 1 style of music i can't play but totally envy the speed of their flatpicking, its like shredding for the gentle folk

Its all working! Had an all day job tuesday on the Xynergi, one or two crashes here and there but generally pretty stable and sounds great... quite a few music jobs since the start of the year so its either been that or soldering patchbays

we get phone lines next week... (only took 4 months!)
