Whats the best anyone has gotten for the UA La3a and 1176?
Just curious as to what is the best price anyone has ever picked one up here locally for each item. Universal Audio La3a, La4a and 1176.

Hey John, I think both the LA3a and 1176 when I priced them here were around 3-3.2K AUD new.
I bought my original LA3a's a lot cheaper in the US - $800US and $950US but that was a few years ago when the dollar was actually worth something. The one I got for $800 I got it here, switched fuses and power plugs, plugged it in and thought 'wow the vu's are bright' then smoke poured out of it. I'd forgotten to change the voltage selctor, so, it cost me another $200.
I don't think the LA4A has been rereleased? I always found them a bit mushy, but there are some mods you can do to make them pretty good.

As a side note I just checked Turramurra and the RRP on there for the 1176 is 4KAUD? Holey moley.
Interesting trivia - the United Airlines flight number UA1176 goes from San Francisco to Seattle, and costs far less than 4K.

If anyone's interested, I'll do some coaxing
I'd be interested in the PCM 41 / price etc.

Just last year i paid 1900 for another one, but even better was the pair of original la3's for $1250!! (metropolis studio auction)
How did you get access to those auctions? I remember way back, people were bragging about what they got in studio auctions and I never seen the ad for it or anything. Must be within inner circles that got the news about it.
