PAIR OF VINTAGE LOMO TUBE EQS PULTEC COPIES KLANGFILM EBAY
PAIR OF VINTAGE LOMO TUBE EQS PULTEC COPIES KLANGFILM
Up for auction is the highly sought after Russian Lomo Tube Eq. This is how the Russians replied to the Americans by making their version of the highly regarded PULTEC PROGRAM EQ. These are increadibly rare and are the most sought after Russian Tube eq's available. Theses are the holy grail of Russian Eq's. Just look at the circuits.
Well. What can I say. I owned an original Pultec and in my humble opinion, these are built 10 times better. Built like a Russian tank. The units work with a 4db cut or boost on whatever frequency band is selected.
80 +/- 4db
200 +/- 4db
500 +/- 4db
1300 +/- 4db
3000 +/- 4db
8000 +/- 4db
They are originally from an old 4 channel russian recording console from the 1950's/60's. Can you imagine how funky that console was, let alone how big. Designed to run on 240volt power but the right technician can wire them up to 110volt if needed.
There are a few great russian techs around and if you win this auction I can email you there contacts.
I also have the pinouts for wiring these up so if you want you can do these yourself you can.
These are passive eq and very pultec-ish in sound. Very warm and very big. With two tubes per eq.
The units are in great condition for their age mainly because of the build quality that went into them all those years ago.
They don't have input or output transformers and don't have the make up gain that a pultec has so you will need to add balancing cinemag input and output transformers in the rack to balance them. you will also have to power them as there is no power supply.
This is your chance to snap up a pair that would likely rival any pair of pulec's and in some cases may well smoke them...

no input or output transfrormers?
+ or - 4db?
they are generally compatible with most AD/DA convertors ? eh?
Fix em, find the original transformers and maybe they are worth what you are asking - maybe.
If they are that good with no transformers - why sell them?
Sorry - that gets up my shirt!

There you go. Lowered the price.
Do you guys know what these are..
There simply is nothing out there like them...
anyway.
Take it or leave it. Its your choice.
And by the way I own a lomo 19a19 mic and its the best mic I have ever used.
That's why Pink Floyd own lots of them.
Cheers

Yeah I've seen these a few time over the years. In all honesty i'm sure when in top working condition they would be great,
but there is alot of great stuff out there at your original asking price. And yes your right it is our choice as it is your choice to choose to sell at
what ever price you want. I think however considering the work needed to get them going, you could be waiting some time for the
right buyer to come along. That said, I wish you well with your sale.
Congrats on your lamo mic, I'm sure you and pink floyd have alot to discuss.
Also please respect the rules of this forum and post your identity

Thats right. The EQ boosts or cuts by + or - 4db.
And sorry about the AD/DA convertors... That was meant for another add.
I am selling these because I am trying to buy a console and don't want to spend any more money on doing any of my old gear up.
If it gets your shirt up that's fine, but hey... I am having a clean out of my studio and I simply thought someone may be interested.
No real harm done.

Cheers,
Not a problem mate.
Thanks for your comments. I have lowered the price to $2200 AUS for the pair. I thinks thats fair.
I was just going off a recommended price from an overseas tech but obviously we we're both wrong.

Hi Marc,
I think you might have a more realistic chance of selling them at that price. I guess its like all vintage gear, it can be valued at any price,
but It's only worth what someone is willing to pay at the time. You just have to hope the right buyer will come along.

Yeah... which a lot of people selling music equipment seem to forget!

NOPE...BECAUSE IT'S NOT A PULTEC!!!!
Sorry Marc, just having a joke at the pultec reference to sell your gear, as these clearly will never function like a pultec.First thing i did was follow the link to your eBay sale and was imediatley dissapointed in what i was looking at. Lots of hype compareing the Lomo to a Pultec to create an expectation in the buyer that these are something not to be missed out on etc etc. to quote you:
"What can I say. I owned an original Pultec and in my humble opinion, these are built 10 times better." From this i assume you have never even heard your Lomo's in action as you do not mention how they sound compared to a Pultec.
They are passive cut & boost only 4dB and as you know a Pultec, i presume you're alluding to the EQP1A is an entirely different beast in design to your Lomo's. So if you pop in here, as you are most welcome to do and drop an add like that to promote your sale, then it's a given to expect a bit of a critique on your sale delivered in the time honored Oz tradition.
Nothing to do with Neve envy.... and your lomo's most probably are a top sounding eqs ( 4 dB aint a lot of gain compared to a Pultec) but this is exactly what i was intending to say....in a humorous way:
" Your saying that is a Lomo Pultec?.....pull the other leg."

lomos .. well like everything they are worth what somebody will pay... on the day..
i sold all my 1176 once ( 8 ) for $800 each which was way more then they were worth frankly and much more then i paid and now look what they are worth .. !
its is criminal - any version .. 1176s are built so poorly that no two will ever stay sounding and calibrated the same
one mans treasure is another mans garbage or is that vice versa.
