That's a lot of gear, farout! I'll keep an ear out for sure. They must have had some time to remove all that stuff and cased the place well, hope the cops get the bastards.

Hi Mick, Mate i'm bummed for you in a big way. For those that don't understand "bummed", this means "Hating Life in a Big Way". I have been in this position, although to a lesser fiscal extent.

From what i have read, your policy from your insurer didn't cover you, imho, another reason never to pay those arseholes that own and play with your trust when it comes to thinking that you will be looked after if anything ever happens to the gear/home/car etc that you pay a premium for year after F@#$ing year in the hope that you never, ever have to, "use", that excess you <shudder> have, scratch that, pray, you will have to rely on.

Myself, I'll be watching the auction sites and doing my usual bit to chase cheap gear. Rest assured if i come across anything that has your serials or markings on it i will personally ensure that said "vendors" do not leave their place of "vending" and if necessary, before being presented to the relevant police station, ensure that if they are presented to said police station/s they are minus a right hand. In regards to the last sentence, I feel, personally, that they have the right idea in the islamic states where if a thief is caught in the act or convicted of thievery they have their right hand removed in the most horrendous fashion.

I would be happy to carry out an act such as this as i have been ripped off before and not had the chance to commit such an act.

I'm glad i have that off my chest now.

I hope that your gear turns up, and hopefully sooner than later fellas.
Thats not a hot dog....This is a hot dog!

I too am shocked and appalled at both: being ripped off by thieves as well as being ripped off by the insurance company. I'm sure we'll all help out by turning in these crooks if we get half a chance, in the meantime, what can we learn from this? Did the alarm fail? Was there some dubious small print on the policy?? Can you name the insurance company?

Mixmasters are good guys and we've all done business with them. Surely if there is any "industry" left in this country we can rally behind them and organise some kinda benefit? Maybe picket the insurance company?

Chin up Mick, we feel for ya.

+1
I'ts a small enough industry that should not let the "backyard" sale of this Toft gear go un noticed. I will be keeping my ear to the ground and i hope all in the industry will get the word around to keep an eye out for this gear.
As for the "small print" criminals, the insurance company, what's the story there and can we learn something so as not to be duped by mis information about the extent of coverage our insurance policy's provide. I think i will be going over mine with a closer look.

Tried ringing the mobile number at Mixmasters and got someone called Jason (who was half asleep) so I hope they

I would bet 90% it is a mix masters. I have just asked for the serial number and postage price to Brisbane. Hopefully that should make it really easy.
From personal experience you can bet if they will have more then one item they would have bought from this bloke. They always leave a trail but you need to get onto this ASAP.
I would say the guy who sold it to them is just the bunny and has no idea how hot this item is. I mean he will know it is stolen but he wont know anything about the Mixmasters scenario.
Please keep us informed this is going to fun to watch it all unravel.

The guys at Ezy cash just emailed me the serial number. It matches one of them on the stolen list.
I sent it to Jon at mixmasters.
I dare say it will be done and dusted in the next few hours.
The cops have a big job ahead of them sorting out the trail.

I'd seen the 24 channel on Ebay BUT as it has a meter bridge (there were no m/bridges in the Mixmaster's list), I considered it to be probably a genuine sale.

Email for a serial number and then we will all definietly know for sure.
Judging by the amount of other studio gear, its still a 50/50 affair.

Also
Dont be too hard on Ezy Cash as these businesses dont purposely go out to buy stolen gear.
It is because of the serial number system and other record keeping practices that the law rightfully imposes on them that we are able to catch these people - eventually.
I just hope that it does not take 6-12 months for Mix masters to get there gear back from the law.

I messaged the guy last night for the serial number and photos. He got back to me first up this morning. Same deal. Rang the mobile number. I should have look here first to see who else was on it. Oh well. At least there is a fair few of us keeping our eyes open. These guys are going to have a very hard time getting rid of this stuff in Aus if they don't get caught over this one.

This is fantastic news..
I would suggest to mixmasters that they drive around every known pawnbroker, cash converters etc around Adelaide asap.. chances are they've pawned bits and pieces all over the place.
Probably just lucky that this particular shop had an ebay account.

hmmm...... don't pawn shops have to send serial numbers of things to the police before they sell them anyway? or is that just a NSW thing?
My name is Julian Higginson and I approve of this message.
