Are the Ampex 456 boxes dated? Also, what do you mean by used........1 pass, 6 passes, more than that?

some are dated some are one pass some are more.

Maybe I should have worded that differently.............what years of manufacture are the Ampex?

i bought the ampex tapes new about 3 years ago they are in plastic boxes but im unsure of the actual manufacture dates.

Cool, the "plastic boxes" tells me enough, if they're like the tape I have, the boxes have two "lift" tabs to lock them and there's no branding except on the spool itself as well as a sticker with the manufactering details. That being the case, I'll see how finances are at the end of this week :-)
