When I opened the safari on my phone this morning I realized I had all three incarnations of the forum changes, as well as the old one, open on different pages. Being able to directly compare, this one does look the best... but then I'm a sucker for a bit of timber!

i think thin brown/black text on light brown/greay background is still too hard to read. imo.

this does look more relaxing on the eyes though.

just the text is an issue.

Yeah I like the new wood look. I actually like the profile on the right. The new tubes look great too. I like the massive tube that the forum admins have! And yeah it's easy on the eyes.

Getting used to it, although it is a tad bland/low contrast, especially after that brief period of high intensity white.

I'm liking our spotted gum flooring, don't suppose that is available for the background? :)

Frankly , it looks awful on my pc. Maybe it's because I'm forced to use IE7.

Also I can't find "Search" or "New posts since last visit".

It wasn't broken, didn't need fixing.

I cant say I don't mind it - although the text colour is a little hard on the eyes with the light background.
Overall, I like the layout.

OK, Anyone know how to post images now? Before it had that little link below that used the external hosting system. The "new features" post mentioned the photo's would be uploaded directly to turtlerock.

Thanks for any help guys!

Sorry, I'm not digging the new look. I've tried to.

It looks like a menu from some American western style diner. I'm seriously expecting a picture of a side of ribs as I scroll down.

I'll order the Taco's with a side of chopped salad.

It looks nice blended together visually, but I think its the wrong choice of color and texture combination for a forum, that is text and reading based.

The text color you have chosen is not enough contrast for the background color. The patterned or texture background also does not add to making this forum easy to read.

It is my understanding that people like a forum that you can quickly scroll through and quickly selectively choose the information you would like to read.

The color choice and texture you have chosen makes this difficult.

I think a balance of design and readability should be taken into consideration when choosing the appropriate design for a forum.

I think there is not enough contrast for the text section of this new design.
Old school of thought...
